I Tivo’d the Sopranos, and will read nothing about it until I have watched it. Noth-ing.
However, I did see 300. I liked it a lot, but I have some thoughts about the reaction to it on the right and the left. Pondering writing it all up.
I also took my wee lass to see Meet the Robinsons, mostly because it’s the only G-rated flick out there. It was very trippy and my daughter is not quiet fluent in space-time continuum stuff. But the 3D was kinda cool and they give you much nicer 3D glasses now — not those cardboard jobs anymore — but genuine hard Chinese plastic. They’re almost like Blues Brothers glasses.
And on that note:
Actual conversation with daughter on way home from movies (and feeding ducks at the harbor):
Me: Let’s surprise mommy by wearing our new 3D glasses.
Lucy: Yeah! Mommy won’t recognize us.
Me: Um, she might still figure out it’s us.
Lucy: No she won’t!
Me: I think she will.
[Long, angry, silence.]
Me: She could figure it out from my beard and your pink winter coat.
Lucy: [Excitedly] Well, you could shave and I could leave my coat in the car.
Me: [Laughing] Honey, it’s very cold out, and I don’t have anything to shave with in the car.
Lucy: Well…we could also cover ourselves in tinfoil.
