Mona, I think it is extremely, extremely unlikely that Lieberman would pull a switch like that. He swore during his campaign that he would caucus with Democrats and he’s an honorable man. The real question is, if Dems take the House by two or three seats, will anybody switch sides to the GOP in exchange for a committee chairmanship or something like that? That would be the major speculation in the two months leading up to the swearing-in of the new Congress if it’s that close.

By the way, I have no idea if it’s going to be that close, and neither does anybody else. My take on the utter uselessness of punditry during this election season is here.
