I am a physician who resides and practices in Bart Stupak’s district.
While I am a conservative and have a number of disagreements with him,
he has been the only Democrat to earn my vote, and I have pulled the
lever for him consistently. This is directly due to the strength of
his pro-life position and the consistency of his character. I know a
number of others who have voted for him for precisely the same
reasons. Over the last months, and especially the last weeks, those
votes have been repaid. I am proud to have him as my Congressman
despite my differences with him. His strength of character in the
face of tremendous pressure has been exactly what is needed. I have
called and e-mailed him to thank him, and I will continue to pray for
him. Thank you for recognizing the good work he has been doing.
