Jonah referred to our coming debate at the NRI Ideas Summit on nationalism. I definitely have my work cut out of for me: Can I get Jonah to accept the true definition of patriotism and nationalism? To acknowledge that without nationalism we wouldn’t have a country, that indeed we set the model for nationalist revolutions the world over? To fully accept that we are a nation and a people rather than an abstraction?
