Jonah, I agree that we could be in for another tax revolt. But most of us who have been saying that the Republican approach to tax policy has lost its political edge have not denied that tax reduction and tax reform are a potentially powerful issue. We’ve been saying that a tax policy that obsesses about the top income-tax rates while largely ignoring other taxes, such as payroll taxes, is going to have ever-diminishing political strength, and I think that’s still true.
