Re: Tonight

Remember this? Elizabeth Crum reported:

Incredible but true: Nevada’s Senate candidate forum ended in a loud shouting match and fist fight between supporters of Harry Reid and Sharron Angle.

The unruly affair went down at the unlikely venue of Faith Lutheran high school in Summerlin, a master-planned community just west of the Las Vegas city limits.

Don’t expect any (literal) punches tonight:

Dozens of spectators are being banned from a debate next month between Democratic Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid  and Republican rival and tea party favorite Sharron Angle after a candidate forum last week ended with a fistfight in the audience. Nevada Broadcasters Association President Bob Fisher told journalists and political candidates Saturday that each candidate can only invite 12 guests to the Oct. 14 televised debate.

“It was never a public event,” Fisher said. “It’s a broadcaster debate being televised and broadcast statewide.”Fisher said the studio was never large enough for an audience and the intent is to take the circus out of the debate so the candidates can focus in the issues.

“The public wants a debate where the candidate answer the same questions,” he said. “But we want answers, we want solutions, we want to know how they’re going to represent this state and we want to know how we’re gonna solve the problems we have.”
