A reader: “Mr. Derb—I happen to be a bond guy, so I understand ‘DK-ed,’

but I’d be curious as to how many of your readers inquire as to its meaning.

I remember being shocked the first time I heard my wife (a civilian) use the

phrase. The first time I ever heard it used in a bar was pretty good, too.

A friend of mine tried to pick up a young lady and failed. When he came

back to our table and was asked what happened, all he said was ‘She DK-ed

me.’ Perfect usage.”
