Derb, I didn’t care much for the film version of A Good Man in Africa, but the book, by William Boyd, is marvelous — LOL funny and really conveys the flavor of 20th century West Africa. I also very much enjoyed his An Ice Cream War which is about Africa during World War I. Not as funny but a great read and a marvelous evocation of place and era.
