Re: Wicked Idiots

Rick: Elizabeth the First prayed for the wisdom to distinguish between the voice of the people and the clamor of a faction. I don’t doubt that there are crazy factions out there clamoring for Ron Paul. Crazy factions are not determinative in our politics, though. There are not enough wicked idiots in Iowa to give Paul a big vote there. If he gets a big vote, it will be because people like the man and approve of his policies, as set out in that link I gave you. Paul is rather obviously not wicked or idiotic himself, and I can’t see anything in his policy prescriptions to which those adjectives can fairly be applied.

If we are to think of presidential aspirants in terms of their craziest supporters, who will ‘scape whipping?
