I’ve got a great idea: Why don’t the Lakers and Celtics just join together on a lay-up line? I mean, I know some people think the so-called “championsip” games are important. But these extreme partisans in Los Angeles and Boston, even if they have good intentions, just want to drag our entire nation into ugly battles over issues — like who can score more points than whom — which can only divide us. A lay-up line brings everyone together — and everybody wins! Isn’t that really the kind of country we want to be?
