I caught about a minute of Larry King interviewing former President Bush last night. King asked whether Bush would support replacing Alexander Hamilton with Reagan on the $10 bill. Bush basically endorsed the idea. (Barbara Bush, also being interviewed, was more skeptical but certainly not against it.) Seems to me that lawmakers who want to do something noteworthy in Reagan’s honor are going to have to agree on a single goal, whether it’s renaming the Pentagon, putting Reagan on the ten spot, putting him on the dime, or whatever. They need to choose between one success and a bunch a failures.
