The real shame of the Mets loss

I was mildly rooting against the Mets, purely on spiteful and embittered cross-town rivalry grounds. But after the Chavez catch, I wavered. If the Mets had won, say, 2- or 3-1, that catch would have gone done as the perhaps most memorable and spectacular post-season catch ever. It’s still an amazing catch. (I’m looking at a series of photos of it in the New York Post, and after he brought it back from over the fence, it was sno-coning so much he had his bare-hand ready to try to grab it if it fell out of his glove–just an incredible catch.) But now it won’t be remembered the same way, which is a shame. Congrats to the Cards and Tigers.
