If it comes to that–and sorry for the string of “if it comes to that” posts–perhaps the only enjoyable thing about a Republican loss in the House will be that all those approriations chairmen will have to clean out their desks, and give up all their perogatives and staff. No one will so deserve the agony of defeat. I hope a bunch of them retire never to be heard of again. They will try to argue that a defeat is all Jeff Flake’s fault, but they will have done more than anyone to set the tone for a Republican loss.
