Republicans held a Midterm Convention in Dallas this week, and backlash over Senator Ted Cruz’s speech is growing. Today on The Editors, Rich discusses the speech with Noah. “Ted Cruz knows how to serve it up — went all out on this red-green alliance,” Rich says. “A lot of mainstream observers or folks on the left were crying foul. What did you make of it?”
“This is some tough rhetoric,” Noah says of Cruz’s speech. “Designed to be provocative. And it provoked. But he’s not wrong.”
“There’s been a lot of revisionist talk about 9/11. . . . But it’s really clear that exactly what we understood happened the morning that it happened is exactly what happened,” Noah says.
“The people who are doing the revisionism are the DSA types who are trying to massage this event into something that we deserved. . . . I’m proud of Ted Cruz for speaking honestly and openly about the nature of this threat, because we will not confront it unless we define it.”
