Reid Refers to Father’s Suicide in Gun Debate

This morning on the Senate floor, majority leader Harry Reid warned against further gun violence by mentioning his father’s suicide. While discussing waiting periods for gun purchases, he explained: “Sometimes people, in a fit of passion, will purchase a handgun to do bad things with it, Mr. President, even as my dad did, killed himself. Waiting a few days helps.”
