Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D., Nev.) has revealed his new, stripped-down energy bill. It’s a grab-bag of subsidies and other porcine goodies, with a healthy dose of Gulf-spill-exploitation thrown in that will, among other things, raise energy costs by drastically increasing per-barrel taxes on oil.
No cap and trade here, obviously. But also conspicuously absent is the renewable energy mandate that left-wing interest groups have long been pushing.
