The Released Female Soldier

Obviously this is good news. But I’m not sure it’s as good as some might hope. If memory serves the original Iranian embassy kidnappers released the black hostages (and maybe women too) in the hope that they would win sympathy from the oppressed minorities of America. It didn’t help, of course. Nor did it presage an early release for the remaining hostages. Who knows what the Iranians are thinking, but freeing one woman may not be the cause for optimism some might take it for. Of course, we should hope otherwise.
