Ramesh, I thought Romney’s “freedom requires religion just as religion requires freedom” was actually just a restatement of George Washington’s admonition that “”Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, religion and morality are indispensable supports . . . let us with caution indulge the supposition that morality can be maintained without religion.”
