Rep

So, shortly after CNN’s John King apologized on behalf of a guest who used to the phrase “in the crosshairs” — presumably in an effort to establish a “new tone” in wake of the tragic shooting in Tucson — Rep. Steve Cohen (D., Tenn.) went on the House floor to debate Obamacare repeal and proceeded to compare Republicans to Nazi propagandists (adding a “blood libel” shout-out for good measure). Here’s what Cohen said:

[Republicans] don’t like the truth, so they summarily dismiss it. They say it’s a government takeover of health care — a big lie — just like Goebbels. You say it enough, you repeat the lie, you repeat the lie, you repeat the lie and eventually people believe it. Like blood libel. That’s the same kind of thing. The Germans said enough about the Jews and the people believed it, and you had the Holocaust.
