Results in Colorado Governor’s Race Not Expected Until Morning

Greenwood Village, Colorado — Coloradoans will likely have to wait until morning to know who their governor will be.

Governor John Hickenlooper, the Democrat incumbent, has told his supporters to go home and get some rest for the evening, and his challenger Bob Beauprez said he expects “to be around to the wee hours of the morning or maybe tomorrow.”

With 86 percent reporting, Beauprez leads Hickenlooper by just over one point, or a margin of less than 14,500 votes. The Denver Post has reported that if the margin falls to 0.5 percent of the vote or less, Colorado will see a recount.
