A Return to Normalcy

I imagine someone else in blogworld, or maybe even a lot of someone elses, has made this point, but I haven’t seen it: For a lot of Americans, having a Democratic House and a Republican president is a pretty familiar arrangement. It was the set-up for 20 of the 24 years between 1969 and 1993. It was the set-up for 26 of the last 54 years.
