I have a quick highlight reel up elsewhere on NRO; an excellent job was done by Rush yesterday on the topic; but one further thought on the problem that is Rev. Wright.
We’ve heard Mrs. Obama complain that the poor Barack and Michelle had to pay off their Ivy League student loans (and elite education they chose as young adults). But we also know that they chose as adults to give $22, 500 to Rev. Wright’s church in 2006 (apparently without whining about tithing on the campaign trail).
This isn’t only a case of a church Barack Obama went to some Sundays (and a man he has in an official albeit honorary advisory position on his campaign); this isn’t something that can be dismissed by crazy uncle talk. Rev. Wright’s ministry has been, at least in 2006, a financial priority of Barack Obama. This is an issue that won’t go away easily.
