Jerome Skolnick has an interesting review of The Great American Crime Decline by Franklin E. Zimring in the latest issue of Democracy. But this sentence really pops out at you (or, at least, me):
It took some time to convince Zimring and other criminologists, including this writer, that policing could actually reduce crime.
