RGA Has a Big Quarter

From the Press Release:

RGA Raises $31 million in 3rd Quarter, $59 million in 2010

The Republican Governors Association announced that it raised $31 million in the 3rd quarter, bringing its fundraising haul for the year to more than $59 million.  Prior to this year, the RGA had never raised more than $30 million in a year. The RGA ended September with $31.5 million cash on hand.

“While our fundraising haul will allow us to compete in a record number of states, we know the real measure of our success will take place in 19 days, so we are taking nothing for granted,” said RGA Executive Director Nick Ayers.

The RGA has received contributions from more than 36,000 donors compared to less than 2500 donors in 2006. Nearly 95 percent of all RGA donors have contributed $1000 or less.

The Democratic Governors Association raised $10 million for the quarter, $27 million for the year and had $13 million on hand at the end of the month.
