Shepherd Smith messed up in his running commentary/reading of the Bin Laden message. Bin Laden rattles off some neocons: Dick Cheney, Rumsfeld, and “Richard Perle.” Shep said (roughly) “You all remember Richard Perle, he was the American killed in Pakistan.”
Uh, no. He’s the Defense Advisory Board, “Prince of Darkness” guy. Shep’s obviously thinking of Danny Pearl, who wasn’t a famous neoconservative. It’s a human mistake, but kind of weird to hear.
