The website for more info or to purchase tickets is here. We can use all the help we can get. In DC, especially as we head into a presidential election year, politics sucks up most of the money. Even most dedicated pro-lifers in DC are more likely to donate their money to a candidate than to a service organization like ours. So, we struggle each year just to stay afloat. In case you are more interested in the work we do, I’ve attached our annual report to this email. Anyway, thanks again for your support!

The Human Life Foundation, publisher since 1975 of the quarterly journal the Human Life Review, will honor Congressman Chris Smith of New Jersey at its annual Great Defender of Life fundraising dinner on Friday evening, October 19th. Congressman Smith has been a courageous champion of pro-life and human-rights issues throughout his 26 years in Washington. Ramesh Ponnuru, senior editor of National Review and author of The Party of Death will also speak, as will George McKenna, professor emeritus of political science at New York’s City College, whose latest book, The Puritan Origins of American Patriotism, has just been published. Father Richard John Neuhaus will give the Invocation. The event will take place at the Union League Club in Manhattan, beginning at 6:30 pm. Tickets, $250; discounted student tickets available. [There’s a] Republican/conservative recruiting event for Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government that’s taking place in Washington, D.C. I’m currently a student at KSG and I’m chairman of the KSG Republican Caucus, so I’m also very interested in getting more Republicans up here. The administrators are also working hard to attract more Republican students to the Kennedy School’s Masters in Public Policy program. They are also attempting to attract new Republican professors (we just got former Congressmen Jim Leach and Clay Shaw and other administration officials to come to the Institute of Politics).
To that end, next Thursday we’re having a recruiting event in D.C. at the Capitol Hill Club for people interested in getting their Masters at the Kennedy School in Public Policy or Public Administration. I’ve pasted the invitation to the event below….
