We just posted a piece I pounded out this morning on the Child Custody Protection Act, which the Senate is taking up today. Here’s an e-mailer who gets what it’s about:
This issue makes me very angry. If somebody took my 11-year-old daughter across state lines to have an ice cream cone, it would result in an unfavorable fist/nose interface. Hell, if someone took my precious daughter to the mall to have her ears pierced, I would leave a reminder somewhere on the offending person’s body. But if someone took my baby across the state line (or across the county line for that matter) to have a dangerous medical procedure, this would be one angry father. So please come tell this dad why some creep should be allowed to take her anywhere without my permission.
What the dems forget is that outside of their little bubble, people don’t want men driving their daughters anywhere, to do anything, without them knowing about it. I imagine moms are equally, if not more, adamant about such things.
Dumb, dumb move to fight this.
