Syndicated columnist Robert Scheer has been dropped from the San Francisco Chronicle Op-Ed page. The editor told him his take on world affairs and politics had become “predictable,” to which Scheer bristles to SF Weekly’s Joe Eskenazi. If this all feels familiar, you have a good memory. Scheer was dropped from the Los Angeles Times Op-Ed page late in 2005, setting off a wave of objections and protests from his friends and fans on the left, including several Democrats in Congress.
Alas, this has no doubt diluted the gamut at the S.F. Chronicle.
