Roberts More Popular with Liberals Than Conservatives

According to the new CBS/NYT poll, Chief Justice Roberts’s popularity has taken an interesting turn: The Bush-appointee now is more popular with liberals than conservatives.

While the vast majority of those polled were either undecided or unsure of their opinion (73 percent), 13 percent of self-described liberals had a favorable opinion of Roberts, while only 9 percent of conservatives expressed the same approval. Twenty percent of “moderates” had a favorable view of the chief justice.
