A new Quinnipiac poll shows former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney in a statistical tie with President Obama in a hypothetical 2012 match-up.
Romney leads Obama 45-44 among registered voters, while former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee trails the president 46-44, and former Alaska governor Sarah Palin trails 48-40.
Significantly, Romney leads Obama among independents 46-35, and Obama’s re-elect stands at 49-43 against.
