Romney Leads, Followed by Palin

Mitt Romney continues to be the frontrunner in the GOP presidential field, garnering 26 percent support among Republicans and Republican-leaning independents in a poll released today by Washington Post/ABC News.

Sarah Palin is second, with 18 percent support. Michele Bachmann is next in line at 12 percent support.

Ron Paul is in fourth with 9 percent, followed by Rick Perry (8 percent), Herman Cain (6 percent), Newt Gingrich (5 percent), Jon Huntsman (3 percent), Tim Pawlenty and Rick Santorum (tied at 2 percent).

Take Palin out, and the top three are Romney (30 percent), Bachmann (16 percent), and Paul (11 percent).

Thirty-eight percent of Republicans or those leaning Republican are somewhat or very dissatisfied with the current GOP presidential candidates field.
