Romney: ‘London Is Ready’

Mitt Romney, under fire from the British press for expressing concerns in an interview Wednesday about whether London was well enough prepared to host the Olympics, tried to quell the storm in an interview today.

““I read the same reports I think a lot of people did about all the challenges being faced by the organizing committee,” Romney told NBC, “but after being here a couple of days, it looks like London is ready.”

“I’m absolutely convinced the people here are ready for the Games,” he added.


The Obama campaign is hoping to capture some voters watching the opening ceremonies tonight by airing this new spot, which emphasizes Barack Obama’s concern about the middle class;
