Romney Remains Ahead in Florida

After a slew of polls showing Mitt Romney with a double-digit lead over Newt Gingrich in Florida, a couple of new polls show Romney to be leading Gingrich by a single digit margin. Romney is seven points ahead of Gingrich, 39 percent to 32 percent, according to a new poll by Democratic firm Public Policy Polling. In an Insider Advantage poll, Romney is five points head, 36 percent to 31 percent. The campaign is publicizing the polls, arguing that Gingrich is gaining momentum in Florida.

But a Quinnipiac poll out this morning shows Gingrich 14 points behind Romney in the Sunshine state, 29 percent to 43 percent.
