Romney’s Fundraising Push Bringing Him to London

Mitt Romney, who’s been crisscrossing the country in a series of fundraisers in recent weeks, will go to London in July to tap Americans living abroad for donations.

The suggested contribution for the function is $2,500, reports the Boston Globe.

It’s an unusual, but not unprecedented, step for a candidate. President Obama and Rudy Giuliani have also held fundraisers in England. Romney risks bad optics — why is he in England, rather than campaigning in Iowa or New Hampshire? — but he could also raise as much as $875,000 at the event.
