A major network finally gets to the most important question of the cycle: Iran. Romney benefits by getting to be serious first – “Of course it is an act of war.” Gets to follow with “We beat them” in response to a question on how to deal with Taliban. This half hour builds on the very good first half hour for Mitt. Santorum is showing strength as well, and except for being drawn into the lobbying/influence peddler swamp, Newt is doing okay as well. But that’s a huge “but,” and Newt’s failure to get any memorable exchanges ala King and Juan Williams is deflating him.
