That Four-Way Fight

That four-way fight among Rubio, Cruz, Paul, and Christie on background check and surveillance was excellent. Their differences are substantial, but they are thoughtful, well-informed differences. One gets the feeling that a policy debate between these four outside of the electoral context might in fact produce a pretty good set of policies. It is easy to see in them a president, a vice president, a cabinet member, and a legislative partner. That wouldn’t be a terrible outcome.
