As the Crist-Greer story develops, Marco Rubio isn’t sweating. He tells National Review Online that the Florida GOP’s woes are serious, but a story from the past that damages Crist more than the GOP brand. “Our party turned the corner a couple months ago when John Thrasher was elected chairman,” Rubio says. “We’re now focused on what the GOP is supposed to be about: Promoting ideas that will help us maintain majorities in state government and attain them at the federal level. That’s what we’re back to being. We’re no longer a cult of personality, no longer a party that exists to promote the ambitions of one person at the expense of everyone else.”
