Florida Republican Senate candidate Marco Rubio raised $3.6 million in the first quarter of 2010, according to a new release from the campaign.
“Today’s announcement is a product of grassroots supporters that are stepping up to ensure we have the resources needed to promote this message throughout Florida,” Rubio said of the news.
The Q1 figure represents more than half of the $7 million Rubio has raised to date, most of it designated for his primary battle with Florida governor Charlie Crist. With 99 percent of current donors under the federal maxes, Rubio is in a strong financial position to maintain his current momentum heading into the primaries.
