On Face the Nation, host Bob Schieffer asked Sen. Marco Rubio (R., Fla.) if he would vote for Sen. Mitch McConnell (R., Ky.)’s plan to allow the president to raise the debt ceiling and to let Congress voice its disapproval simultaneously.
“Not as I understand it,” Rubio flatly replied. “The debt limit’s not really the problem here. The problem here is the debt. . . . If all we do is raise the debt limit and it’s not accompanied by a credible solution to America’s debt problem, we’re in big trouble. And I don’t believe this plan — as it’s been outlined to me — is a credible solution to our debt problem.”
