Sad News

Among young Reaganite conservatives in D.C. in the heady days of the 1980s, Chris Warden was widely known, loved, and respected. Chris helped Stan Evans run the National Journalism Center, which trained many hundreds of conservatives and libertarians how to report in Washington, run down stories, and pursue journalism as a career. On that last point, many NJCers took Chris up on the deal over the next two decades, ending up in mainstream media outlets as well as National Review, Human Events, Reason, and other movement media.

Later, Chris worked on the editorial page at Investor’s Business Daily and then taught journalism at Alabama’s Troy University, inspiring thousands of additional young people. He also wrote a forthcoming textbook for Accuracy in Academia on applying basic economics. Never in good health, Chris Warden passed away on January 4. AIA’s Mal Kline, who worked with Chris at the NJC, has a fond remembrance here.

Here’s to you, Chris.
