She might’ve lost her vice-presidential bid and resigned the Alaska governorship halfway through her term – but don’t count Sarah Palin out of official politics just yet.
During an appearance on Fox Business Network on Tuesday, the former Republican governor responded to a question about whether the “hatred level” directed at her has driven her to forsake future public office.
Palin dismissed the “haters,” promising that “the more they’re pouring on, the more I’m gonna bug the crap of them by being out there with a voice, with a message — hopefully running for office in the future, too.”
Still a resident of Alaska, Palin could possibly run for a House seat as soon as 2016. But if she wants to reclaim the governorship or run for senator, she’s in a for a long wait — neither race will come around until 2018, and Republican Lisa Murkowski is likely to run for Senate reelection anyway.
A Public Policy Polling survey conducted in August found that 55 percent of Alaska residents had a unfavorable opinion of Palin. Just 36 percent view their former governor favorably.
