The Corner

Scared? Yes. Bitter? Even More So.

Both Rubio and Cruz, explained elections expert Henry Olsen on Need to Know this week, had a “mini-me” in the race. For Cruz, it was Ben Carson, who pulled some votes that would otherwise have gone to Cruz. For Rubio, it was John Kasich. Carson is gone now. Kasich, clearly is not. That is just one of the factors that has led us to where we are in the race. That insight is one of the traditional, poli-sci type analyses that Olsen offers. But this is not a wonky podcast. It’s called “Bitter Recriminations” for a reason. We stare the rise of a fascist-style American politician in the face, and ask whether we could still call ourselves Republican if Trump were to secure the nomination. (Spoiler alert: No!)
