Rush Limbaugh helped out Sandra Fluke by calling her “a slut,” MSNBC host Ed Schultz says. On Thursday, he told Fluke that she benefited from the conservative radio host disparaging her on his show because it raised her public stature.
“I think Limbaugh actually did you a favor by putting you out there like that, I hope you understand where I’m going on that,” Schultz told her after congratulating her for her California state-senate bid. “I mean exposure is very important — people now look to you in a big, big way on some very pertinent issues.”
Fluke agreed that the attention from the Limbaugh helped her, saying “it let us shine a light on important issues that we need to be talking about.”
