A government-appointed panel wants EVERY adult screened for depression as part of their routine healthcare. From the LiveSciencestory:
All adults in the U.S., including pregnant and postpartum women, should be screened for depression when they visit the doctor, according to new recommendations released by a government-appointed panel.
This recommendation from the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) is largely consistent with the group’s previous recommendation, which was issued in 2009, said Karina Davidson, a member of the task force and a professor at Columbia University Medical Center.
Yea, this is going to work out great: Doctors only have a few minutes to spend with each patient now.
