Sebelius and Holder Defend the Mandate

The two Cabinet secretaries are in the Washington Post attacking yesterday’s ruling. Here’s their key factoid: “Every insured family pays an average of $1,000 more a year in premiums to cover the care of those who have no insurance.” That figure is the estimate of a left-wing advocacy group. Other sources, including the CBO, have reached much smaller estimates, closer to $220/year. The cost of the mandate, and everything that goes with it, could easily be higher.
