Second Amendment Plus a Lesson in Politics

Nice response from Santorum to Juan Williams, who tried to suggest that Santorum isn’t hard core enough on gun rights. Santorum looked pretty pleased to be able to say that the limits he voted for, including gun locks and background checks, were supported by the NRA, of which he is a member and lifelong supporter. More importantly, and I say this with Ron Pauls purist standards in mind, Santorum explicitly explained that sometimes you vote for an imperfect bill, to protect larger positions. That is how politics works — if you want to be effective over the long run. It is unfortunate that we have come to a point where a working politician has to explain that.
