“See His Low Ratings Vanish Before Your Very Eyes!”

You know, Barack Obama wasn’t the only politician who held a press conference yesterday. The president did, too. And if you read Dana Milbank, you’d think it was one big popularity ploy. Something tells me he knows a press conference isn’t going to make him Mr. Popular by now, whatever he says. Maybe his 15 mentions of Congress were an honest attempt to urge Congress to get working. I, for one, would like to see Congress doing little things like funding the troops (the war supplemental), giving the intelligence community the tools they need (FISA), not dissing our friend, Colombia, and not buying into summertime gimmicks (gas holiday) …. The president, in other words, has some right ideas …. Congress could afford to listen some.
