This is probably just a sloppy mistake but it’s not meaningless: You occasionally see hints on the left at the idea (the Vox writer is agnostic on it) that abortion restrictions don’t really reduce the abortion rate, they just make it harder to access or truly dangerous. Needless to say, this is nonsense — even mild restrictions noticeably reduce the number of fetuses killed, and the kinds of restrictions Roe nonsensically deemed unconstitutional helped keep the abortion rate dramatically lower than it has been since then.
