The Senate Races That Matter Most

Over at the WaPo, I write about which races I’ll be following most closely this fall. An excerpt:

Florida and Pennsylvania [are tight races that] feature Republican nominees who are conservative champions. If Marco Rubio wins the Florida election, expect veep talk to start. If Pat Toomey wins, he will demonstrate that a strong free-market platform can win in Pennsylvania–where even Rick Santorum was careful not to adopt too conservative a line on economics. Both Rubio and Toomey have been willing to stand for entitlement reform, so their elections will also be tests of just how serious the country’s concern about federal spending is.
