Senate Status

The latest I have via watchers is: In Alaska Stevens holds a slim 3,500-vote lead with 99 percent reporting. There are 40,000 absentee votes yet to be counted. They don’t anticipate knowing anything for at least a week to 10 days in this race.

As we’ve discussed, Coleman holds a slim 750-vote lead with 99 percent reporting. This seems headed to a recount for sure. They anticipate results today, but a recount is almost guaranteed.

In Oregon, Smith holds a 10,000-vote lead with 74% reporting.

In Georgia, Chambliss holds a 139,000 vote lead and sits at 50.25 percent of the total vote with 99 percent reporting. He needs to remain above 50 percent to avoid a Dec 2 run-off.
